Legal and Other Requirements Register
A Register of Legislation is a written record of the environmental legislation (and usually Codes of Practice) which is applicable to an organisation's activities, processes or services, and summarises obligations for compliance. It is a requirement to compile a Register of Legislation as part of an environmental management system (EMS) and update the information regularly to reflect any changes in legislation. This template will offer gudiance on the format for a legal (and other requirements) [L&OR] register. The L&OR register should clearly state the environmental legislation and regulations that are relevant to a specific organisation and provide management with a comprehensive and accessible document to help achieve regulatory compliance.

Procedure for Legal Requirements
This document provides a "hit list" for ISO14001 Procedure for Legal and Other Requirements. ISO 14001 does not require documentation for the Legal and Other Requirements section. However, the only practical way to demonstrate conformance is to assemble in one place a list and copies of each applicable environmental law, regulation and voluntary subscription along with the supporting permits and/or contracts as evidence. The application and deployment of a procedure allows control and management of L&OR.
